Our property compensation team is headed up by Roger Bedson, BSc, MRICS, FAAV based predominantly in our Eccleshall Office.
Roger sits as Secretary to the West Midlands branch of the Compulsory Purchase Association and is Vice Chair to the Valuation Compensation Taxation Committee of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.
The right to claim compensation usually arises when new public infrastructure works are built or where utility companies or authorities possessing statutory powers of entry carry out works on land in private ownership.
Here are a few examples of situations where a claim may arise.
- A new road or road improvement scheme either involving the acquisition of land or where the use of the road after construction affects the property.
- New railway insfrastructure works, for example High Speed 2.
- A pipeline to carry water, gas, oil or drainage
- An underground or overhead electric powerline.
- Telecommunication cable or masts
- Housing clearance or regeneration scheme
We have a wealth of experience in all of these matters and can deal quickly and effectively with a claim on your behalf whether it be direct compulsory acquisition or the acquisition of wayleaves or easements by negotiation.
For matters of compulsory purchase or compensation contact Roger Bedson at Eccleshall on 01785 850866 or by email at rogerbedson@btinternet.com or victoria@hinsonparry.co.uk
